once suggest that MS is not in business to make money? no...in fact,
i believe i said that MS is in business to make money. have you ever
developed a piece of software on the same scale of windows? yes, it
has loads of bugs, but it's to be expected. software engineers are
people too, and they screw up like everyone else. it's to be
expected. do you see a better alternative that will allow me to run
all the software that i run now? neither do i.
the fact is
that windows is
getting better, and it is getting more
stable. i say this as someone who deals with it on a daily basis.
no, it's not perfect, and i never said it was, and it probably never
will be. but it is
getting better.

this is a surprisingly pointless argument. how come no one bitches
when sony does the same thing? did you know that sony took a $170
loss per unit when the PS2 launched? did you know that sony is a
monstrous mega-conglomerate in the consumer electronics industry
that wants their grubby fingers in everything just like MS does?
take a look at their future plans for PS2, if you want evidence.
don't you think that sony launched the PS1 so that they could
compete in YET ANOTHER MARKET? did you know people said the same
crap about them before the PS1 showed up that they say about MS and
xbox now? how come no one bitches about sony anymore? i guess it's
only "cool" to complain about MS...
and no, the world didn't
need another console. then again, your argument is lame: the world
didn't need another console when the PS1 came around, either. then
again, the world didn't need consoles in the
first place. what the hell do you care if it's two consoles or
three, or even four? oh, wait...you care because it's microsoft's console.
i don't care who makes the box, so long as the games are
good. i'm not biased for MS, but i'm certainly not going to shun
them just because they're MS. i choose what i purchase based on what
i like, and if that happens to be a MS product, so be it. now, if

heh, when the PS1 first came out i didnt get one cos i was
like 'a console from a walkman company?! wtf?!' but then they had
tenchu and tekken2, and those games just ruled, so im fine with them
now ^_^
i never said id NEVER get an Xbox, id just preffer to
get a game cube then an Xbox, cos its nintendo and ive got an N64,
and verious other reasons
anyway, im not saying im gonna not buy
an Xbox just cos its microsoft, there just gonna have a harder time
proving to me that its any good, just as sony had (except that sony sucseded with
tekken 2 and deffinatly tenchu, tenchu just completly ruled
^_^)

Sasami, great job on this!
there is something i noticed,
when i collapse my main window and open it again, the exp from
last monster is the sum of all exp i got from the time i collapsed
it.

It has been, I didn't feel it was an issue big enough to
spend the time on. Unfortunatly assembly programming is very slow,
and then fixing up the dynamic patching for when new patches come
out takes even longer, so unless something big comes up I don't
think i'm gonna fix it anymore, thanks for that info though. And
stop the microsoft bashing ^_^ i didn't mean to turn it into that
kind of thread, I was more making jest towards winxp hehe

stated that Microsoft is evil, and I stand by that. Any business
that throws shoddy products onto the market knowing that they have a
monoply doesn't deserve the adulation that you are willing to heap
upon it.
Personally, I don't think the Xbox is that great.
But if you like it, buy it, buy the games, and enjoy. Whatever
floats your boat. But really, it's not even a console, it's a
hardware-standardized computer designed solely for games.

their stuff (that i use) better than the alternatives, so i use it.

because the xbox uses hardware that is derived from technology you'd
find in a PC does not make it a PC.

Sorry, I was messing around with domains earlier, trying to
help someone get their site past out school proxy, and I
accidentally forgot to put the www portion up, and DNS on the
internet gets updated once every 24 hours, so it should be back up
soon.

I felt it appropriate these last 2 posts of mine should be in
this thread also, so I put them here too.
POST 1
I
don't know what to say anymore. I've had many requests for at least
one additional option *making it work in basic window collapsed
mode* which would be quite easy. There are a lot of nice RO players
out there I enjoy doing this kind of work for, but there are so many
ass holes too, and I don't like doing them favors. I have changed my
opinion on the autodealer and now think it's wrong, I saw this when
people started using automated fighting scripts. I don't know what
to say or think anymore. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea for gravity
to reset accounts because of $**t like this, but then again, people
that have spent countless hours leveling their characters, like
myself, and resetting them would be unfair. I think the best course
of action would be to have a way for gravity to catch these scripts,
make a log of everyone that uses it for about a week, then deletes
all their characters and makes something so noone else can use them
anymore, this way they would catch every perpatrator (if they did it
all in a split instant, some people wouldn't be caught), but then
again, I'm talking about gravity here, and I'm beggining to think
they don't care much about what the players (or at least chaos
players) think, or what happens to them. It does appear Christy is
working hard and all, but has anything big really gotten done since
she's started, has the game improved any in the few weeks or month
or so she's been here? I don't think so. Back to the exp viewer, I
am really unsure of wether or not I should
A) finish the last
part and give it out, and waste my time helping to serve others when
I have already spent countless hours doing this, and have never seen
the same kind of generosity returned in the game, besides the
occasional "thanks sasami" which i do appreciate.
B) just leave
it as is.
C) delete it from the internet and stop distributing
it.
I know it's not a bad thing at all like the automated
stuff, it was an option they had had in alpha, that I still believe
they will implement in beta or final at some point. But maybe the
use of external programs overall is going the wrong way. I just...
don't know what to think anymore.

I feel the time is ripe. I am going going to quit RO for an
indefinite ammount of time. Could be a week, could be a month, could
be till final comes out. I don't know. Ragnarok used to put me in a
better mood, now it puts me in a worse mood (usually). I was in the
best of moods this morning, some good guy friends of mine are
inviting me into their AD&D group, which i've been hoping for
for years ^_^, I've been sitting back and relaxing at home alot,
working on small projects, my job isn't even that bad, because I
know i'm earning money for anime, which really makes me happy ^_^.
Unfortunatly, a few hours of RO took the smile off of my face.
Anyways, I am tired of the general RO community. Most people on
these boards are cool, except the few soon to be gleekers, or
already gleekers that come around. Well, people like that in
general. But in RO it's different, looters, scammers, jerks, kill
stealers, so many people running around that shouldn't be there.
When I was talking this through with one of my best friends I've
have had since 1st grade said the following to me.
"As I see
it, the problem comes from one simple fact: The game is free. All
the idiot children who do not have the money (or whose parents won't
give them the money) to get into games like EQ, DAoC, etc, will go
to RO.
Every time I hear about the terrible players on RO, it
makes me think of the players on UO. It [UO] may actually have the
greatest player community on the net, I think. (Go play it and
you'll see what I'm talking about.) This is, I believe, because they
have been playing forever, and are mature enough to spend their own
money to play it.
Just wait until RO requires money to play. I
guarantee that you will begin to see a drastic decline in users, and
especially the moronic, children 1337 users."
This sums up
my thoughts alot. I can't wait for final, it will ROCK. But until
then I don't know if I can keep playing and raising my blood
pressure ^_^. If anyone needs to reach me, you can ask "Makoto" also
known as NightDreamer or MoonFyr. If you can't get through to him,
I'm sure the mods can email me as a last resort, they have access to
my email, because, of course, these are their boards. I have found
mephisto a really great person, KuIpo too, but i don't know him well
enough to judge. Anyways, thanks to all the nice good players out
there that make the game fun. Thanks to pak0 for filling in
ro-world's spot when watashiwa had the same situation as i, but took
a bit of a different course of action ^_^... thanks to Makoto the
most for always being there for me, for making the game enjoyable,
for always cheering me up and putting a smile on my face (my in game
fiancee I met on day 1 of beta if anyone doesn't know this.) I think
that is everything. The exp viewer should work on any patch that
comes out from now on, if not i will update it and make a 1 or 2
word post ^_^ (im sure someone will fnd a way to contact me if this
happens.) Anyways, everyone have fun playing the game, and I hope
some of the stuff thats happened to me doesn't happen to you also.

with your other friend, the fact that its free brings in some very
immature people which spoil it for everyone else, that should change
with Final tho
I wont be on rag as much for a bit either, im
currently having trouble with a rather irratating bug that makes me
crash out of ragnarok, I seem to crash, on avarage, once every 10-20
mins, tho it useually comes in bursts of about 5 crashes one after
the other, then goes away for half an hour - an hour, only to rear
its ugly head once more
I'll still visit these boards tho, see
how the communities going
oh, and I'll still be in contact
with Sasami, so, like she said, if I see somthing on here by one of
you to say to her, I'll pass it on

i would normally agree with you, except that this didnt start
happening till a week ago, and ive had this comp for 6 months, and
it ONLY happens with ragnarok, and somtimes with IE, but not with
anything else :/
EDIT: it hasnt happend with IE since i
defraged my HD a couple of days ago

Someone contacted me and told me that it didn't work with the
new patch. I looked and realized I had made one small mistake in the
code, so that it assumed where the program ended and ram started was
static, well, now it checks that dynamically too, and sure enough it
does now work with all patches. The new version has been uploaded.

Oh yeah, i no longer check the forums, so I wouldn't
suggest asking me stuff here  I am going to stop checking my
private messages to now, i've left enough time for anyone that
needed to ask any last minute questions.
