Okay, okay, okay. I think I have it figured out.
Both Gravity and hackers are at the top of the stupidity cycle. By finding and exploiting the idiotic loopholes and security faults Gravity leaves open to them, hackers are free to carry out whatever harmful actions they so choose.
They then pass these problems back to Gravity, which, not really knowing how to handle the situation, hands down a reckless, though largely effective remedy, to all users. Examples are rollbacks and wholesale account recertification, such as those in progress at this time. This angers users, since not everyone recieves auth codes, perhaps prompting them to find private servers, or hacking out of spite, restarting the cycle again.
That's how I see it, anyway.
If anyone thinks they have it pegged better, please, add or change this.
I'm tired now. Maybe I'll go and... play... err...
