How do you get poisoned by alcohol? Is a slowdown of the nervous system a symptom of alcohol poisoning? If it's liver damage, I don't think you have to drink much to cause a very tiny bit...I'm confused, what am I missing?

Alcohol can cause death directly by acting on those brain areas that control consciousness, respiration and heart rate. As a central nervous system depressant, alcohol can "turn off" these vital brain areas, resulting first in coma and then death.
lol yah im bored.

Alcohol Poisoning is VERY serious, take it from someone that knows. About 6 years ago I went overboard with a bottle of JD and a gallon of 150 proof GIN...It was my first time drinking hard liquer. I polished off the JD myself had about 3-4 beers, and then played quarters with 1 other guy with the Gin...I did badly too and drank most of it (yes we polished it off). I don't really remember if I drank more, I'm not sure. I ended up passing out on a bridge about 80ft above rocks, and teetering on the edge in my boxer shorts, getting set on fire, etc. Someone called the police about the fire and they picked me up...I managed to walk (with MUCH help) halfway to the car and my body stopped responding...I could barely manage to talk...the last thing I remember was laying in the backseet of the cop's car asking if I was gonna die...next thing I wake up in a hospital with tubes and IV's in me, a breathing tube down my throught, a heart moniter beaping next to me, and my family all around me crying and smileing...I was in a coma for 2 weeks... turns out my blood alchohol level was over 2.6 (or was it 4.6? I don't really remember)...I was only 14-15 and about 135-140 lbs....definately NOT an experience I recomend. Think before you drink
Sorry for the morral lesson, but I think in some cases it's needed.

alcohol IS poison to your body actually, thats why u get all wacky when it happens. like drugs, but a weaker effect.
though i was joking about no such thing as too much alcohol.. its just stupid to not know your limits. i would never drink under 18 (21 is legal in the US) and i'd never drink to the point i could breath. If you drink slow, or at a normal pace you'll pass out before you get alcohol poisoning. (passing out is the fun part ) but of course its not good to go beyond your limits, you should always start off slow, and even drunk you know when you've had too much.
