I put the dlls up on the programs page already, they are the visual basic dlls.... can't run any VB app without them, and windows 98 isn't even remotly antiquated, I love win98. Wish I hadn't decided to try out XP and then be too lazy to go back -.- |

why don't you check for yourself, that's a visual c dll. not that hard to go to the directory and look at the name of the file... |

98's great and all, don't get me wrong...I used it from the time it came out to about 8 months ago. But I really like-a the XP Professional. It works near-perfectly with all my hardware (98 had issues with my Adaptec SCSI, no matter what driver I used, official release, beta, whatever...didn't really like the kt-7raid, either), crashy programs (*cough*netscape*cough*cough*) don't end up crashing the OS...sure, it's uber-bloatware compared to 98, but that's a trade-off I had to make to get stability without losing the ability to play games, etc without vmware in Linux -_-
...but anyway, no, 98's not a dinosaur. 95a is, O/S2 Warp is...oh, how I miss you O/S2.
....yeah, anyway.

If you want the stableness without the bloated crap... as a matter of fact, an even MORE stable OS, go with windows 2000 advanced server edition :-D (don't know about the other versions of 2k, but that one is the best OS I have EVER used.) |

I've been desensitized to them -_-
I would much rather not troll through drek, but the only place in my area that would have 2k advanced server is NIU, and the person in charge of everything computers in the one and only Dr. Angotti. He's a hardass, and there's no way I'm getting a burn out of him -_-
soo, I'm doomed to face large numbers of self-proliferating popups and links that don't go where they say they do, and of course, the really nasty porn ads -_-

oh yea, all i know is 98 has best compatibility with games (SE that is), 2k for stability (go 2k, i'm running it), and xp makes movies look so much better... good thing my friend has a copy of xp corporate... i'll get that later for my laptop.. i'll probably watch movies or play games during lecture, lol. i'll distract the whole class sitting behind me
