"L" = ababa
"E" = aabaa
"V" = baabb
i've been staring at that for awhile... hope i'm not worng...

Level 2 Solution (Highlight to read)
You must download the flash file.
Change the extension to .txt and open it up.
You'll see a lot of useless garbage, but you should notice the username and password in it.
I don't feel like downloading a vb decompiler so I officially stopped on 5.

DaiSHi, you're on the right track
actually, I just solved level 6... but my original source of info came from accidentally finding out the level 7 url once I saw how many letters made up the url in the data packets
The thing I didn't like about that level is the B*C*N**N is REALLY misleading... it has absolutely nothing to do with the encryption
unless there's something I miss which someone could enlighten me with
(PM me if you know, my method was really just guess and test )
oh yes, you'll like level 7. Instead of hacking the packets coming in, you have to hack the packets going out |

hehe, yea, the first one, you need to figure out only the password. gets more difficult later on.
hint: maybe if you could look at the html...

DaiSHi, solved level 6 yet? I could give you a hint
and I've put level 7 on hold until I feel like solving it |

ok, follow these simple steps to crack the encryption
first, convert the binary into letters where 1 = a, 2 = b
aabaa (4) = d
ababa (10) = j
etc...
now, here's the encryption part
for the first 9 or so letters, add 1 (so a=b, f=g)
for letters 10 to 18, add 2 (L=n, o=q)
for letters 18 to 26, add 3 (v=y)
so it's like:
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
111111111222222223333333
Hope it helps. just remember to add 1 2 or 3 to the letters and you'll eventually be able to make out the words for the login, password, or even the url (the url is where I started ) |

*DaiSHi slaps *DaiSHi with large trout
i would have never figured that out...
and you said it was easy sasami, lol
gracias baked
edit:
wow, didn't know þme worked...lol
thanx baked, finally got it, lol, i had everything right but the user name... i can't add good... and i was thinking of adding in a math minor too
i actually thought of using 1's and 2's, but i orginally thought of 0's and 1's, but had no idea which one would be which. 7 looks.... fun?

um, just taking the letters from letter form to binary to a number to an ascii leter, then subracting it from 26 gives the right numbers. It's just backwards binary. |

well..i guess i could have tried harder, tested different theories... maybe i'm just getting lazy, or i can't rip myself from RO. level 7 is beyond me, so i might have to end the line here. it was fun, i learned much along the way, but someone with my menial knowledge only goes so far. maybe uci will bring me farther. i'm tempted to screw specializing in AI and moving to algorithms so i can do encrypting.. maybe

you can look through the java code to get it too, except you'll find it harder doing it that way unless your good at Java, heh |

::sigh:: i've learned most of the basics. learning binary trees and whatnot... i could slowly read through the code... i see where it's reading in the file with BufferedReader... guess i should have figured there was a txt file that it was reading from. well...i haven't made my own applet before, so i was pretty much lost on many of the methods in that class...

i preffer being taut stuff as opposed to lerning it myself, its much easyer that way, and you lern good habits and such |

this is my second quarter of java... did stacks 'n queues this quarter... even wrote a simple programs in Scheme(a functional language built by Rice University if someone doens't know) this quarter's more focused on problem solving and writing code more efficiently... we used to teach c++ early on, but company's around wanted more workers with java knowledge, so UCI listens...
