Hey guys, I'm really trying to get into this, but i'm thourouly confused...I'm messing with that WPE pro right now, and I figured out what my client is sending as a fire bolt, and it looks like the level that's used is in the 3rd offset (i think that's what it's called)...I'm trying to figure out how I can change that value to make it so that say I do a level 5 one, and replace it with a level 2...anyone care to explain? I set up a filter that looked for 13 01 05 and put 13 01 02 in modify, and nothing happened...

edit:
In case you havn't noticed, this is my first time useing a sniffer in any way, lol...

Thanks,
Rob

I Gather you are using windows 2000.

First of all, do have have problem using WPE pro? you can only sniff send packets from your client rite?

In any case, i have 2 system , win98 and win2k. I have no problem editing the spell packets (1301 cast spell) (lvl) 0 (spell type) 0 monster id when i am using win98. meaning i can chose what lvl of spells i cast, provided its not above the skill lvl i have.(tried overcasting, doesnt work, it cast your max lvl)

However i face the same problem as you when using windows2k

Regards,
Ferr

iris cost 995$ USD

wpe pro is free!

well, unless u can "edit" the 15 days trial period, i personally feel that 995$ can be better spent else where!

Yeah, I downloaded Iris, a little complicated though, but I think I can figure it out... Sasami, do you have a sure-proof crack for this? If so, would you mind letting me in on what you did (I'd prefer this to the crack itself, as it would give me a chance to practive )? Also, using wpe to moniter sent packets (since that's all it can do on XP), i get something like the following...

0000 13 01 01 00 13 00 B1 CA 00 00

Now I've figured out that this is sent when I do a firebolt with my mage.. and the 3rd place (ie. 13 01 <>), is changed to corrispond with the level bolt I'm useing..but what exactly is this sending to the server? Is there any way to interpret it?

Thanks again,
Rob

Actually, you are right, that is the place for skill level, trial and error is how you find what the packets are, or getting it from someone who has already done the work and recorded them all

Well I can find it, but I can't modify it...is there anything out there I can get my hands on for free that will work with winXP? If it comes down to it, i'd be willing to trade (some of the stuff I have is high profile, so private message me if this is an interest).

Thanks,
Rob

Full version programs that I'm willing to trade, of corse... High profile meaning I'd rather not state on a public board that I have it, some of them cost in excess of $4000 dollers.

Bleh, figures, lol (Even the Enterprise Edition?). Well then, just to help out the future, eh? I was just starting to figure it out, and winblows XP had to get in my way. All I need is a working packet editor (somewhat like WPE if possible, I liked that interface). Or, if you want to make me work for it, an explanation of how I can use VC++ or VB to moniter and intercept packets sent and recieved on my computer (I would actually prefer this).

Thank,
Rob

#1 use iris
#2 you can use wpe to filter packets
#3 don't try to play with packets in vb, i don't think there is a way (an easy way.)
#4 there is a library in c++ that lets you control lots of winsock functions, but i forget the name.

Ok, I may have gotten ahold of a good one, so far so good...A friend of mine designed and created it. I'll let you all know where to get it if it works out well, and if he (my friend) is willing to distribute it.

Thanks,
Rob
